HERMES SoftLab has agreed to support new global initiative, The StorageRevolution

Core research, development and testing for the initiative will be carried out using key software building blocks at the HERMES Storage Competence Centre in Ljubljana, Slovenia, as part of the center's ongoing commitment to furthering storage networking developments.

"HERMES SoftLab brings an enormous depth and breadth of competency to the engineering of an application-facing storage management framework.  We are delighted to have their participation in the StorageRevolution initiative and have every reason to be confident that their contributions will make heterogeneous, vendor agnostic, storage management a reality," commented Jon Toigo, executive director of the StorageRevolution.

"We have asked a lot of consumers about their storage management pain over the past six months and we have distilled their views into a real world requirements analysis that HERMES can help to translate into a viable framework in what I expect will be a very expeditious timeframe.  That they are willing to aid in building this much needed solution strictly as uncompensated, contributed effort speaks volumes about their commitment to solving user problems.  We are grateful for their support and participation."
