Comtec Power has announced a contract with Garmin, world leaders in satellite navigation and GPS, to design and implement a new datacentre for its European headquarters.  Designed to support Garmin’s business continuity and CSR strategies, the datacentre will provide a foundation for the company’s 24/7 global operations, and offer greater scale and efficiency.

Nick Ewing, senior solutions consultant for Comtec Power, explains, “The datacentre is critical to operational success and has a significant role to play in supporting the long-term strategy of the organisation.

“Garmin is keen to deploy a datacentre that meets not only the capacity and business continuity challenges of a global corporation, but also enables significant efficiency gains.  In doing so, they’ll also have far lesser impact on the environment, and subsequently result in a reduced energy bill!”
