Aperture Technologies has launched a new consulting practice to advise companies on the best ways to operate and manage a data centre. The venture is being led by Gary Aron, a 30-year industry veteran who has overseen data center operations at Verizon and three full-service banking organizations: First USA, Bank One, and, most recently, JPMorganChase. Aron serves as Aperture’s Senior Director of Data Center Consulting Services. The new consulting practice represents a new, high growth business opportunity for Aperture, which has supplied data center software solutions since 1987. Aperture has grown quickly in recent years, responding to the need for more advanced tools to manage equipment, space, power and cooling as well as infrastructure changes in today’s mission critical data centers. Additionally, with the advent of virtualization, blade servers and other high-density servers into the data center, companies need to respond quickly to change and manage the introduction of these new technologies into their overall physical infrastructure. Now, Aperture can tap its organizational expertise to work with customers embarking on data center construction, expansion or modification projects. “Enterprises of all sizes must consider a wider array of issues as they develop bigger and more complex data centers to handle mission-critical IT applications,” said William T. Clifford, Chairman and CEO of Aperture Technologies. “We see a significant business opportunity providing high-level consulting services to this market. Bringing aboard a respected data center professional with Gary’s knowledge and expertise will help us capitalize on this growing need in a marketplace we know well.”
