American Power Conversion (APC) has announced the immediate retirement of longtime president and chief executive officer Rodger B. Dowdell Jr., who oversaw the company's rise from small start-up to leading Rhode Island Technology Company
Rodger will continue to contribute to APC as non-executive chairman of the board. The company's board of directors named an interim CEO from within the company and said it would undertake a "comprehensive search" for a permanent replacement.Rob Johnson, an APC vice president, was named interim CEO and president over several more senior executives within the company, which is based in West Kingston.
