IBM has introduced a new supercomputer powered by one of the world’s fastest microprocessors and cooled by an innovative water system.

The new Power 575 supercomputer, equipped with IBM’s latest POWER6 microprocessor, uses water-chilled copper plates located above each microprocessor to remove heat from the electronics.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ new Server Management Suite is now compatible with the centralised management of virtualised and physical servers and I/O resources in the data centre. The new structure extends the functionally of the PRIMERGY ServerView Suite, making it easier and more economical to manage servers and storage systems. The new simplified structure includes Deployment, Analysis, Integration and Operation management topics. The new PRIMERGY ServerView Suite is available as of 1st of April 2008.

HP has launched two affordable, power-efficient HP ProLiant servers and an expanded customer relationship management (CRM) portfolio designed to help small to midsize businesses reduce costs, improve security and manage customer relationships.
HP has introduced the HP ProLiant BL260c G5 and DL120 G5 servers, enhanced CRM configuration options, Linux-based management tools and remote access technology.
 
Dell expands data centre operations

Dell has announced the expansion of the Data Centre Solutions (DCS) business unit in EMEA, further developing the company’s solutions and services capabilities in the region. This is the next step in Dell’s strategy for the fast emerging cloud computing market, following the successful launch and subsequent customer adoption of DCS last year.
